Built and installed a fence on a corner lot- (50' x 71') - also consulted with us on design
Member Comments:
We live on a corner and needed a simple yet aesthetically pleasing fence and we could not have done it without Michael. He was responsive, professional and he didn't change his bid even when we ran into a bit of a design snag and delay due to slope/grading issues and city fence height restrictions.(we took care of him after the fact). We have had many compliments on our fence from our neighbors and I actually just recommended him to one of them this afternoon!

Repaired second story balcony decking and installed a security door.
Member Comments:
Michael De Laurentiis is a great carpenter. He "sistered" all the supporting beams on my second story balcony and installed all new wood for the deck. His price was reasonable and the workmanship was great. He also installed a security door. It looks and works great. I can highly recommed Michael for any projects involving carpentry.

Description Of Work:

I needed to have my deck repaired after the removal of a very large Jacaranda. The original deck had been build around the tree, and the removal left a hole approximately 3 ft in diameter in the middle of the deck. Michael repaired the deck, and built a bridge connecting the deck with the main entrance. He extended a fence 20 ft and built a new entry with 8 ft high arbor. This was a complicated construction as it needed to be movable while looking like a permanent structure. Michael also reinstalled a door saddle and weatherproofed it to prevent leaking.

Member Comments:

The work went without a hitch. Michael kept to his original quote to the penny. He began as promised and completed as promised. Michael stayed in communication and was very easy to work with. He created as little disruption as possible, and cleaned every day. When the job was complete, Michael cut up all the scraps so that we could dispose of them with our regular trash collection. He left the work area in immaculate condition. I was very pleased with the quality of Michael's work. The fence is perfect, the bridge awesome and the gates are impressive and solid. Everything is better then I had envisioned. I will certainly hire Michael again and highly recommend him. Michael is professional, punctual, fair and skilled.

We love our gorgeous new gates! Michael completely demo'd the old ones and built 3 new gates to our specifications; one to the potting shed, one to the trash container area and another much larger one that provides entry to the driveway.

Member Comments:

We couldn't have asked for a better experience! Michael was great to work with, listened to us and helped us over the hurdles and decision-making. He always did what he said he would and completed the job on time as promised. The project came in exactly to the quote he provided at the beginning. He custom-built handles for all the gates when we couldn't find ones in the store that fit our style and provided his guidance and expertise at every point

Description Of Work:

Dela Woodworks installed a new outdoor handrail along our front steps and a new gate post along the side of our home.

Member Comments:

This is the second time that we've hired Mike of Dela Woodworks, and we will definitely hire him again. Mike is super. He does an excellent job of communicating with the customer in a timely manner, he is punctual, and he's a great carpenter. I got to see Mike in action this time since I was working along side him, and his experience and skill are readily evident. He approached the handrail installation in a much different manner than I would have, and it resulted in a faster and better job than if I had done it myself (as I had originally planned). I have tremendous confidence in him, and I can recommend him without reservation.

Description Of Work:

Michael installed base molding, casing, new doors and hardware. He also recommended and cut pieces to solve little finishing problems.

Member Comments:

Michael returned all calls promptly. He's very busy but shows up on time. He was able to solve many issues while installing the base molding. My walls and floors were not always level but this was not a problem for his skill level. He also worked with me on solving trim issues on some of my flooring (tile-wood). He's an East Coast (New York) guy so we got along great. He's very straight-forward. Good sense of humor. I'm looking forward to hiring him again to build a new closet for my bedroom and shelves for my bathroom

Description Of Work:

Michael installed cabinets, a countertop, put in crown molding, and rebuilt a sink stand in our laundry room. The crown molding was particularly tricky because where the walls and ceilings met were not straight. The ceiling is angled. Also the cabinets weren't the same depth so he put a panel in so that the gap where they met was hidden.

Member Comments:

Michael was very conscientious about returning phone calls. He arrived each day right when he said he would. He cleaned up each day too. He did great work and we were really pleased how everything came out.

Description Of Work:

Installed two bi-fold doors on two separate stairways where doors had not existed. This required ordering custom doors, installing a top track and side frame piece, building down a section on the top of one door and finishing that part with rough-cut cedar to match existing ceiling. Both doors also had a stain applied afterwards. Repaired a door that had come off its hinges.

Member Comments:

It went extremely well. The doors look great, they turned out beautifully. Michael was helpful with suggestions, alternatives, and it is clear he is a highly-skilled carpenter.

Description Of Work:

Michael DeLaurentiis of Dela Woodworks replaced a fence leading from the back to the front of my property. He provided oversight of the removal of trunks from large bushes that were in the way of the installation. On both occasions he arranged to be present at the time that the fencing material was delivered for his inspection and approval. He inspected the material before he accepted it and in one instance sent back several fence posts in exchange for those that were acceptable to him. At no extra cost he erected a small yard to permit my dogs to go outdoors to the lawn and yet be contained for safekeeping.

Member Comments:

The work was scheduled and completed on time. Michael is very knowledgeable, competent, efficient and neat. As the fence was going up, Michael asked for any input that I might have.I appreciated that very much. He treated the new fencing with a termite water proofing solution to enhance and increase the longevity of the wood. The fence is a very pretty addition to our yard. Michael did a very good job, he certainly knows how to build a fence. All of the material not used was left for me.

Replaced existing deck with a new redwood deck of the same size including removing and disposing of the old decking, shoring up and truing the existing supporting beams and installing the new redwood material using screws instead of nails.

Member Comments:

I was a little skeptical at first about Michael and Dela Woodworks at first because I couldn't find his company anywhere in the yellow pages or even the white pages of the local telephone book. All I had to go on was the many glowing reports I found on Angie's List. After talking to him I was still a little hesitant about hiring him but I decided to take a chance and boy, was I glad that I did. Like reported by others who hired him, he was always available, was on the job when he said he would be, finished in the time he estimated and did great job on the deck. Workmanship on the old deck he replaced was shoddy in comparison to the one he put in its place. I am very satisfied with the work him did and it looks great.

Description Of Work:

Michael came out immediately and gave me a bid on replacing the fence and gate in my front yard. His estimate was the most detailed so I felt confident he could build my fence properly and without cost over runs. I approved his contract and he started work when he said he would, 3 days later.

Member Comments:

Michael kept to his schedule of 3 days to finish the work. He kept the job site clean and orderly and finished on time. His craftsmanship is excellent. My neighbors that walked by arrived with constant compliments. I added a few more items to the work to be performed and he responded with a can-do attitude and priced the changes very fairly. He is very pleasant to work with and I will hire him again on future projects. You can rely absolutely on what he says.

Hi Mike,

I've been meaning to write and thank you for your fantastic workmanship on our fence and gate.  The back rail looks so charming, and it sets off the landscaping very nicely.  We really appreciated your suggestions and just love how it turned out!  You were such a pleasure to work with, and we will highly recommend Delawoodworks to anyone looking for a referral.

Kind regards,
Jennifer and Rob Mindess
